National Indigenous Peoples Day & National Indigenous History Month

Honouring Indigenous Culture and Community

June 21 is National Indigenous Peoples Day, and June is National Indigenous History Month, a time to learn, listen, connect, and celebrate the rich histories, cultures, traditions, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples.

2026 update: While the City is not hosting a single National Indigenous Peoples Day celebration event this year, residents and visitors are invited to take part in community experiences happening throughout June as part of National Indigenous History Month.

About National Indigenous History Month
